Canvas Complete workshops are intended for those who teach online or plan to use Canvas tools comprehensively. In the Grading workshop, we will cover how to use the grading tools for those who collect assignments or host quizzes within the LMS. This overview includes an introduction to the grade-related tools in Canvas, focusing on theSpeedgrader tool and settings options in the gradebook. Grade tools work closely with assignment types, so this workshop discusses graded and ungraded assignments, discussions, and quizzes that are collected in the LMS, as well as how to weight grades, drop lowest grades and add extra credit. This workshop also covers how to restrict access to assignments, extend time or dates for the various assignment types, and hide or release grades to students. Rubrics and outcomes will also be briefly introduced and there will be time for questions. Hands-on activities will allow professors to begin setting up a gradebook with the options they prefer.
