The Opening Session will include an exciting guest speaker, Sonia Nazario (pending Board approval). Sonia’s presentation is titled, “From Trauma to Resiliency: Struggles and Strengths in Students’ Journeys to College.” Sonia Nazario is a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, graduate of Williams College and has a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. She is best known for her story of a Honduran boy’s struggle to find his mother in the U.S. called, “Enrique’s Journey,” a national bestseller. The first 250 registrants to the Opening Meeting will receive a free copy of her book.
